Lucie Francis

I have practised Pilates for over 20 years as a means to manage my own back injury.  Pilates and movement are an integral part my life and I was inspired to become an instructor through experiencing my own personal benefits. I graduated with a diploma in Level 3 mat work with Michael King Pilates in Edinburgh,  February 2013.

I began my professional life as a Community worker but have always held a keen interest in Complementary therapies, the human body and movement and subsequently trained in both Polarity Therapy and Bodywork in 1997. I have always believed in working holistically which is also central to my approach in teaching.

I set up my own business in 2013 and since then have been busy running my own classes and providing one-to-ones and postural assessments in Edinburgh as well as teaching at Virgin, Nuffield Greens Health and Fitness, Edinburgh Leisure, Pulse Pilates in Dalkeith,  Dance Base, the Roslin Institute and in my community in the beautiful dance studio at Cameron House, the City of Edinbugh Methodist Church and more recently my new home studio.

I also provide workshops focussing on specifics such as Pilates on the foam roller and offer seated Pilates classes for those with chronic health issues and have worked with KICC Active Lothian In Stockbridge.

Pilates can always be tailored to the individual and I like to ensure that each client receives the necessary support and attention. My classes focus on posture, alignment, breathing and self exploration through focussing on the quality of movement.

I am constantly learning and training as I am keen to keep my classes fresh and beneficial to each individual client. I want people to feel refreshed, relaxed, stronger and more mobile after attending my classes.  My classes will improve body awareness, better posture and breathing patterns and overall greater body confidence.

The classes will provide you with the necessary tools and confidence to inspire you to go away and practice the sequences for yourself and reap the full benefits and rewards.
